Gloria Cassity Stargel, a graduate of the Women's College class of 1977 and an accomplished writer, announces the release of her latest book, "My Anchor Holds: The Difference Jesus Makes," published by Bridge-Logos Publishers. It is a collection of inspirational stories about individuals' personal experiences with God.
She has another book entitled "The Healing, One Family´s Victorious Struggle with Cancer," published by Tyndale House Publishers and Bright Morning Publications. This work earned the "Award for Excellence in Writing" at the Blue Ridge Christian Writers Conference, Black Mountain, North Carolina.
Gloria began writing for Guideposts after attending their well-known workshop in Rye, New York in 1990. She also has award-winning articles published in Home Life, Journal of Christian Nursing, and Decision, published by the Billy Graham Evangelistic Association, in addition to Chicken Soup for the Soul, God Answers Prayers, Stories for the Heart, and Grace Givers.
Gloria earned a degree in Social Work/Journalism from Brenau. She is a 2003 inductee into the Brenau University Alumni Hall of Fame. She and her cancer-survivor husband, Joe, a former mayor, retired judge and Marine Corps officer, have two grown sons, a daughter-in-law, and eighteen-year-old grandson.
