Planned Giving Opportunities
Planned giving is one of the most powerful philanthropic tools available to Brenau’s benefactors.

  • Planned giving helps maximize the personal benefits of your charitable giving and allows you to make gifts you might have thought not possible.
  • Planned giving may reduce or eliminate income taxes (including capital gains) and transfer taxes (including gift, estate, inheritance and generation-skipping).
  • Planned giving is a tool that helps you achieve your personal or family financial goals and your charitable giving goals through advantageous tax treatment under both state and federal law.
  • Planned giving is a way to make a gift and also enjoy the benefits of these laws.

There are numerous methods of providing a planned gift to Brenau. Individuals who make planned gifts to the University share a strong common bond of philanthropy that will make a difference to future generations of students. Through their generosity, Brenau maintains and develops programs and facilities, provides opportunities for students and faculty, and secures the institution’s future.

Estate Gifts
Over the years, bequests and other planned estate commitments have been a predominant source of major support for Brenau. As you work with your attorney to prepare your Will or other estate plans, please use our sample bequest language as an example as to the types of support that you may wish to leave to Brenau.

If you have any questions regarding any of these giving opportunities, please contact a member of the Development staff by calling 770.534.6160.
